How much does a skip bin cost to hire in Sydney?

Prices will vary depending on the amount and type of waste you're looking to remove. Five factors contribute to the price range of our bins;

  • Location
  • Length of hire
  • Type of waste
  • Volume of waste
  • Size of the bin required
Whether it's a small household cleanup or renovation, Our service will provide the correctly priced bin to suit your needs.

What do I need to keep in mind when hiring a skip bin?

To ensure you are completely satisfied when hiring a skip bin, there are a few things we tell our customers to be mindful of whilst booking. They are;

  • Never underestimate the amount of waste; it's best to overestimate, so no waste is leftover requiring you to order another bin.
  • Where you would like the bin the be placed.
  • To prevent disappointment if you require a bin early in the morning order the skip bin to be delivered the day before. Also, leave detailed notes in the delivery instructions field when filling out the booking form.
  • Seven-day bin hire is complimentary and included in the price. So whether you book for 1 or 7 days, the price is the same. Don't underestimate the number of days you need, if you think you only need the skip bin for two days, book it for three to be safe!
  • Whether or not you require a council permit - if you are placing the bin on council property, then you need to get a permit from the council. Best to place the skip bin on your property.
  • Truck access to the desired location.
  • Waste materials that are not permitted to be placed in the skip bin.
If you are unsure of what you require and need further assistance, please contact us on 1800 931 772 speak to one of our friendly staff members or email support@hireskipbins.com for an immediate response.

How do I know what skip bin size I need?

We recommend our customer to overestimate the amount of waste to ensure you book the correct bin size. This will not only save you time but also money, as it prevents you from having to order another bin for the disposal of leftover waste. Have a look at our bin size comparison below for a better understanding of what you may require, or give us a call, and we will be happy to help.

Skip Bin Permit

Once you have decided to book a skip bin, please be mindful of where the skip bin will be placed. If the skip bin is placed on private property, you do NOT need to arrange for a permit, however, if you want it to be placed on the nature strip or council property you may require a council permit.

To be sure of the terms and conditions surrounding your council, please give your local council a call to gather all the information surrounding permit applications, time frame, and possible fees.

ASK US BEFORE BOOKING

What bin size do I choose?

This will all depend on the size of the job. Each bin size can be compared to a size of a box trailer or household wheelie bin. For example an estimate would be:

  • 2 metre cubic skip bin = 12 Wheelie Bins or 3 Trailers
  • 4 metre cubic skip bin = 24 Wheelie Bins or 6 Trailers
  • 6 metre cubic skip bin = 36 Wheelie Bins or 9 Trailers
  • 8 metre cubic skip bin = 48 Wheelie Bins or 12 Trailers
  • 9 metre cubic skip bin = 54 Wheelie Bins or 14 Trailers
  • 12 metre cubic skip bin = 72 Wheelie Bins or 18 Trailers
  • 30 metre cubic skip bin = 180 Wheelie Bins or 45 Trailers

For general waste and green waste you will be able to book any size from 2 metre cubic to 30 metre cubic as there is weight limits to these waste types. Speak to us when booking the large bins for extra information and help.

So the size allowance is as follows:

  • General Waste 2 metre cubic to 30 metre cubic (150kg per cubic metre)
  • Green Waste 2 metre cubic to 30 metre cubic (150kg per cubic metre)

For heavier waste types like cleanfill, hardfill, soil and dirt and mixed heavy waste, you will only find bins up to 9 metre cubic.

  • Cleanfill / Hardfill 2 metre cubic to 9 metre cubic (no weight limit)
  • Soil and Dirt 2 metre cubic to 9 metre cubic (no weight limit)
